Councilman Steve Knoblock and Bill Thomas joined us for a fascinating meeting this January at architect Gary Bastien's office to discuss the plans for our beautiful new amphitheater. Bastien has extensive experience in building outdoor amphitheaters including the Verizon Wireless amphitheater.
We found his office fascinating as Bastien's hallways were converted into a portion of the set from the movie, "The Haunting" by Steven Spielberg.
Bastien assured us that our hills of San Clemente location would be perfect for a tiered parking lot and Mediterranean styled outdoor venue.

I am sure that you will have plenty of opposition to this location as there are many homes in the immediate area that will be affected by the traffic and noise that such a venue will create. I do not see why the other end of La Pata in a more commercial area on a nice hillside cannot be used. San Clemente is a quiet place and does not need another "Verizon Ampitheater". Looking forward to your August 7th comment session. It does not surprise me that councilman Steve Knoblock is supporting this. Seems like any commercial activity and decrease of our open space here tends to be supported by him.
